Effect of low aluminum additions in the microstructure and mechanical properties of hot forged high-manganese steels

چکیده

The present paper analyzes the effect of low aluminum additions and hot forging process on microstructure non-metallic inclusions high manganese steels. Four high-manganese steels (HMnS) were obtained by adding contents 1.1 1.5 wt. % in four medium carbon austenitic (0.3 - 0.4 wt% C) with 17 22 Samples as-cast forged to 1100 ?C obtain a whole reduction 70 %. microstructural evolution was studied microscopy techniques (OM, SEM-EDS) X-Ray diffraction measurements for A typical grain columnar zone during solidification an ingot casting condition where constituted fully matrix. identified as Al2O3 MnS particles. thermomechanical treatment allows formation characterized twins while duplex austenitic-martensitic HMnS which contained lowest contents. highest tensile properties steel 17Mn-1Al showed size higher content. hardness values similar those condition.
